Difference between Crossflow V 6's

I was wondering what the difference was between a 150 and a 185 hp johnny of similar years(84,85). I know the carbs, but is that just jets? I need to borrow some parts off of the 185 to finish the 150....

in my expirence with modifiying my xflow v4, the carbs venturi size changes with the hp.

its wierd after further lookin, i found out my 185 has 2 185 carbs and 1 200hp carb, bore size is stamped on there both the same size (1 5/16). I was wondering if the 185 carbs would run the 150 (1 1/4), or would it just flood...more hp would be great

I plan on using the 185 intake b/c someone chopped the shift linkage bracket off of the 150 to work with an older l/u. BTW, the piston and rods are the same part numbers from what i c for both engines....

The 185 and 200 crossflow's are the same. They have the same port timing etc. The 150 and 175 2.5 liter motors are the same also. You can swap around any intake and / or carbs. The larger the venturi, the more possible top rpm. The smaller the venturi, the more acceleration.

I was trying to use an intake off of a 185 on a 150...The only obvious thing I see different is rubber inserts on the reed plates.

btw, what causes the hp increase, just carb venturi size?

And is the 175 block the same basic block as the 200 except for the port timing?

port timing i'm assumin that is where the ports are in the sleeve?

those rubbers are actually filler blocks for the reed plates
