Diff 25 & 30 Nissan 2 Strk

can someone explain the major differences between the 25 & 30 two strokes. i have an opportunity to purchase a 30, but really want to know how i can convert my 25 without breaking the bank. maybe, i'll just break down and buy the 30 since they are hard to find. thank you in advance for the replies.

Unless it has changed recently, there has effectively been no difference between 25 and 30 HP for 20 years except the 25 has a stop in the twist grip which limits throttle and advance. Take the inlet cover off and check to see if you get full throttle.

i found and removed the small key stock they were using as a throttle stop. if thats all the difference between the two; my needs will fall upon the 40hp to get the extra boost my boat needs. 3 people, dog, and all the duck hunting supplies gets very heavy.

Sometimes there is a restrictor gasket right behind the carb on a 25 that you have to remove as well.
