dies when i give it gas

I have a mercuriser 470 with a alpha one outdrive. I replaced the impeller last night and had the muffs on idels just fine but when to give it gas it dies. any answers

The most common problem is a non working accelerator pump. Second would be choke problems.

Thanks i will check into that. I pulled the lower part of the unit of to see if that was the problem. And now i cant get on

I just worked on my buddies mercruiser 3.0 with the same problem. Put in a carb kit with all new gaskets and accel pump and it solved the problem!
