did i hurt anything????

i was running along and notice a funny noise so i shut it down and sat for a minute. started it back up and same thing so i killed it quick and flagged down a buddy and said i thought i'd need a tow. i was in the water already though so reached down to the intake grate and there was half a milk jugmolded around with indentions from the grate.

can it hurt the motor to run a bit pretty high rpms without water running through it?? it ran fine back to the docks to load it up. just curious

you are fine, smart to kill it when it seems like there is a problem. eventually it may have caused the engine to overheat, but you didn't run it long enough to do any harm
