1976 model 14' Monarch fiberglass tri-hull stick steer with 35hp Johnson Seahorse. Old aluminum prop was worn, took it in to get fixed and the guys says the hub is worn out and would be cheaper to replace. Old prop was 10" 12pitch 3 blade. It's a fishing rig and I'm more concerned with top end than take off. He recommended and I bought a Solas 10" amita 3 blade with pitch 13. I couldn't spend the money to get SS but may one day.

Do you think this is a good prop for my boat? Any free education on pitch/blades/size appreciated.

Thanks,

Richard

The motor came with a 10 1/2 X 11 pitch. Your 10" should do ok but regardless you should get a tach and with a gps you can tell if the prop is right and if the performance is within expected scope. It should do better than the 11 when you have an extra buddy along.
