Hello everyone,
Im very new to boating, atleast owning my own and driving one. I just bought my first boat and would like to know if my gut instict on value was right. I got a 86 bayliner capri with a 125 force engine for 1200. The boat needs alittle work of course;soft floor(no big deal im in the trades) broken skeg and prop is beat up. Got a new prop(or rebuilt i guess) floor will cost me about $200 i figure and a redone skeg i can get done for $150. I figure this is a starter boat, not as nice as i wanted my budget was $5000, but for what i got for price it just seemed like i should go for it. By the way the engine runs great,it does seem to be original though, should that be a concern. anyways any input, advice or whatever helpful and appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

pretty good price if you know how to fix the problems. if you feel liek you got a good deal and the seller feels liek he got a good price than its a good price.
My buddies always tell me ( after i buy something) that they know a guy who was selling whatever I jsut bought for 1/2 of what I paid for it. I jsut take it with a grain of salt. of course they are the first to want to go fishing or whatever
