Hello all, I'm new to the forum. I'm Paul from NJ and I'm active duty in the US Coast Guard.
I've searched all over trying to find the answer to this but I heard that you guys are the people to ask.
This is a Mercruiser 3.0 Alpha One on a Stingray 190 RS (1998):
I was out fishing today and had 2 people aboard who were getting sick. I don't like to head in at low tide because the ramp I use in the bay is extremely shallow but I felt bad for them. I ended up heading in.
There is a lot of black mud at the dock and I started churning it up (I was only making headway speed). I put the boat in neutral and it stalled.
The ignition fuse blew. I ended up going through 3 fuses over the next hour.
I got back to the dock and got the boat out and home. Replaced the fuse again at home and started flushing the motor with freshwater. All seems fine now. I ran the motor for about 45 mins total with freshwater.
Seems weird. Is this even related to the mud? Is something else wrong? This boat has been maintained extremely well and only has 158 hours on it.
Thanks if anyone can help.
