DH, got 6" +2" spacers and have been trying more wheels...I'm up as High as I can go and am having some porpoising issues. I have mobster-tabs and these have allowed me to go as far as I have, but with no pad bottom, I'm wondering if I've found all I can get, or do I have too much set-back now. All the way up, I can only get a Raker, Turbo, the edge, and the rev-4 to grab on hole-shot. The edge is the only one that porpoising is not an issue with, but it does have the least amount of lift from what I can tell. I don't think I have anything but the very bottom of the V going out to the corners of the transom in the water...all the running surface, it appears, is the tabs.....should I try a 10" bob's or am I going the wrong way with my style of hull?????

Did you gain anything with the spacers?

It allowed 3/4" more heigth, but same numbers....
I can run with out the spacers clear up in the 4th hole and lose no water pressure with all holes open. The top 2 holes are tapped and I left the plugs out so I could tell when I lost water pressure, but 6"+2" in 4th hole, I still don't loose any pressure-not even a pound.
It does run about 18 at WOT trimmed out, or trimmed in....
The alum props will work in the 3rd hole, but not the 4th...that requires SS.
But, not getting air to the waterpump is making me think I need to go higher more than anything, but do I need to go back too?????

When you added the 2" spacers did you get more bow lift? It may have been very slight. Perhaps the only way to tell was where the water "breaks" from the side of the hull.

If you have constant water pressure then go ahead and test it up some more if you can. (This is where the "button" comes in real handy -- Kidding! Couldnt resist!)

The water does not "break at the side....the outer 3-4" of the beam at the transom are not touching the water. I can't honestly say (By data) that the 2" spacers made any improvement.
I'm just gonna keep going up until it won't come out of the hole, or the Turbo won't grab anymore....I think I've exceeded the max anyway...
I have had thoughts of wondering at what point the hull will swap ends when something doesn't go quite right...Remember our conversation about acceptance as a pilot or racing boats????.
I'm wearing a jacket with chest protector now.....not sure it would be enough...

Theres a couple of old sayings about race guys (and testing too I'm sure) --

When in doubt -- trim it out!!

Followed closely by;

Theres 2 kids of race drivers -- those that have been wet and those that are gonna get wet.

If the spacers didnt show any improvement, youre probably in the "sweet spot" now. I'd do just what you said -- go up. You have good baseline numbers, its all fine tuning from here.
