DF 70 impeller direction

I have a 2001 Suzuki Df 70 and I replaced the impeller and plate and can not seem to get the pressure I had before I messed with it, the manual says to rotate the shaft clockwise into the impeller housing but looking at the housing it seems it would work better the other way, What I need to know is the book correct or could this be a typo? Do you rotate the shaft clockwise or counter clockwise?

Put it in forward, by pushing down the shift rod, and spin the prop, this should give the direction needed. And clockwise it should go.

No confusion here. As you press the housing down onto the impeller, rotate the drive shaft Clockwise looking from the top.
