determine the year of a mercury outboard

i am trying to determine the year of a motor i believe to be 9.8 hp, model 110. the serial number is 9198435. i am told the serial number is not a canada or us number.

can anyone point me in the right direction?

Welcome aboard. I come up with 1978 using this chart: Mercury: 9.8-30Hp
