Winterizing 2005 yamaha 225 VMAX 2 stroke. Extension nozzle on fogging can separated and went into the cylinder. Is there a way to get it out without pulling the head off? Would very much appreciate any help.

I guess if you are really lucky you may be able to dig it out with some sort of skinny "grabber" tool through the spark plug hole.

Not too familiar with those motors, possibly gain access if you pull the carb/throttle body?

Try a shop vac partially over the spark plug hole. That may cause the part to at least come to the opening so you can grab it if it doesn't come all the way out...

I would not recommend stuffing something else in there that can get loose...

About a 4" piece of very small diameter plastic tubing, I'd try to fish it out somehow, but I expect when you crank the motor up it'll just chew it up and spit it out the exhaust. How much damage could it do? But I'm like you, much prefer to retrieve it out of there, and without pulling the head, if at all possible. Good luck and let us know what happens!

If the nozzle on the can was plastic and it was swallowed when the mtr was running it is now either ground up or burned up. The only other thing it could be stuck in a reed.

How about info on the circumstances, such as was the motor running at the time ?, were you fogging at #2 cyl at the spark plug hole etc. or on the #1 carb?

he didn't state how he was fogging motor. I heard it done both ways. On suzuki's if you remove exhaustcover plate, you can see into each cylinder depending on postion of piston. just need to get a new gasket.

I wasn't saying the plate would be off while running, just while plate off easiest way to get imside combustion chamber

OK I see what you are saying.
the plate maybe a way to get at the plastic tubeing without pull the head.

I just meant that to get into the cylinder he would be fogging through the spark plug hole with out the plugs in and if he was fogging through the carb it probably would not make it past the butterflies and reeds as they do not open that far and if it did it would be in the crank case not the cylinder.

Most likely in the reed area of the intake. Need to pull the carb to see in there.
