I have seen depth / Fish finders located at the wheel as well as on the bow. Are these seperate units or is there a splice (Y) that is avalible? if I wanted a bow mounted finder, can I hook the transducer to or off of the troling moter or maybe a float of some kind?

Re: Depth Finder

There are a number of ways locators can be configured. Most common is to mount a transducer on the trolling motor and then have the locator at the bow. The locator on the helm has its transducer mounted at the stern. If you have a tiller steer boat, the transducer and the locator are usually located at the back where the operator normally sits. That does not mean you couldn't also have one up front. There are also lots of adapter cables that let you use one locator and two transducers.
