My daughter will be moving out soon and I'd like to delete all of the crap music she has downloaded from the internet. Is it that easy, to just delete or does it just disappear and continue to take up space?

as long as you empty the "recycle bin" after you delete it, it'll be gone for good. To empty the recycle bin, right click on it, and choose "empty recycle bin".

Gone??? Well..not always...if you have Norton System Works and have Norton Undelete...they're probably still hanging around. With Norton Un-Delete, Norton keeps a copy of your deleted files 'Just In Case' you ever want to recover a file you thought you toasted to the regular recycle bin. SO,if you do have Norton UnDelete , be sure you empty that as well as your regular Windows recycle bin. BTW, holding down the Shift key when you hit delete bypasses the recycle bin altogether....<br />It's a good idea to do a hard drive defrag after the deleting process too.
