Unless things have changed, you cannot. Last time I tried, it gave mssg "only administrator can perform this function".

I came by to apologize for my frustration in other posts. Don't want to be the black sheep, just didn't like bickering. sorry for posting, should've been sleeping instead :)

everythings fine, great site - check back with you guys later

Re: Deleting a post

Good question. We do not allow deleting of posts because others can learn from what you say. Now, if you are saying to yourself right now, "How can they learn from what I posted?" then maybe we all need to consider not posting unless we have something usefull to say.

If you regret something you have said, we do allow editing of posts. Yes you can delete all text and leave an empty post but my guess is that with a little thought something useful or at least relevant can be said.

Re: Deleting a post

What i had intendid to do was delete all of my posts from the " sugjestions for new posters " post on the motors board.

All of the useful info on that subject was given in the first few replys.

I and a few others were bumping it up because we saw JB and others bumping it up and thought we were doing something good by keeping it at the top like the senior posters were doing....I did not notice anyone calling JB a childish uneducated idiot....

A little chop busting in fun is ok...but i did not want to get blasted for doing what i thought was helping JB keep that post up for pepole to see.

I don't come on here and blast pepole even if i am mad at what they have done....thats just the way i am....don't belive me...go look at the pounding i took on the suger trout post....I was a gentalman and i just want the same back...no more, no less.

If i made pepole so mad as to call me names... than i wish to delete the posts that i had made.

They were not intendid to have any use other than to keep the post at the top and have a little fun in the prosess.

They had nothing important in them so it wont hurt to delete them.(I am still a bad speller)

I am glad that i did not put up my E-Mail adress on my profile....If i had gotten an E-Mail like 00-boaty did and one of my kids had seen it by accident...i would have been realy, realy upset.

the jerk that did that needs to be kicked off for ever...and you can't say that purse snatcher did it cause if your E-Mail adress is up for everyone to see...It could be anyone.

Purse snatcher has never come off as the kinda guy that would do that sorta thing...so i realy don't think he did it....but it would be nice to know who did....I'd like to tell him a thing or two.

If fooling around is makeing pepole mad and holding this fourm back like those guys said....than i wont do it anymore....I can be serious....I think.

I just erased the words from the replys and that will just have to do i guess....I just wanted yall to get the space back that i had taken up on the post.

thanks Derwood.

Re: Deleting a post

It's too bad you had to get an E-Mail like that 00-boaty....pepole sometimes go way to far past the line.

There was no call for that and they...whoever it was...should relize that just because they sent it to you personaly that you may not be the only one to see it.

My kids are looking over my shoulder all the time when i am on the computer.....I don't go to sites that are bad in the first place so i don't mind them looking....but i learned the hard way about letting them watch me open my E-Mail.

A couple of months ago i opened my E-Mail and turned around to talk to one of them before the list started to come up.....all of the sudden i was looking at three kids with dinner plate eyes and jaws bouncing of the floor.

I turned around to see that a porno site had sent me an E-Spam and it had opened up a picture on my moniter that had all kinds of naked pepole doing naked pepole stuff.....NOT GOOD AT ALL.

I would'nt want them to see some E-Mail were someone is curseing me out useing the f-word and such.

We were'nt doing anything wroung....and i fail to see how bumping up that post was stopping pepole from getting there posts answered....and why would anybody be mad about a couple of guys haveing a little fun bumping a post that was only ment to have the first few replys read anyway.

Oh well it was fun while it lasted and thanks for kidden around with me on it....even if it did get you blasted...sorry bud.

Derwood.

Re: Deleting a post

yeah, aol, contacted sailnet, who contacted some one else, the person was givin a big warning, from aol. then yahoo, emailed me and told me that they have deleted this persons acount aparintly, this is not the first time this guy has done such a thing  ... I hate it when I get Porn in the mail, it started, becuase I said the word "high school" in my aol profle, the porn mailers look for those key words and email you spam! then I got a email adres at sailnet, no spam at all, just some guy calling my a ****er  ... was this  the look on your kids faces? I hate it when the porn companys make the subject something like "re: hi" so you think it is someone you know!

Re: Deleting a post

derwood, Check out net nanny. its a prgram that works, I installed it mysef (I think I am the only teen who wan'ts to use it) it keeps all my emails, IMs and chats, it also allows me to send a letter to PORN spam companys from the fedrial goverment, if they don't stop sending. it also takes you off list. that are not registered, I would get aol. if you don't get Net nanny, you can have your screen name be the adult privlage so you can go wereever you want on the web (the main screen name has to be adult. then you get a govining Password. your Kids get there own acounts, but since they don't have adult privlage, you dicide when you type in your code, what level of maturity they are. (elementry, midle, teen, highschool, 17-18, and adult) I have an adult rating so I can prevent my brother who also has anadult rating from spying on me. AOL members please tell derwood!
