What is normal cut-in RPM for a Delco 10SI alternator, idle, off idle?

I have a Delco 10SI alternator on my Mercruiser 140HP and the alternator does not kick in until the engine is about 1200-1500 RPM. I installed a 100amp kit in the alternator years ago and didn't have problems since I was running a points distributor. But, now I have an EST ignition that's supposed to run at 12V minimum and don't want to run into problems with the engine stalling if I'm trolling for hours, and the alternator is not keeping the battery up above 12V. (I have dual batteries so restarting the engine is not a concern, I just don't want it stalling while at idle speed.)

Basically, I'm wondering if a different alternator (lower amp?) will cut-in at idle speed.

Thanks, Dan

Ayuh,... It may take 1200/ 1500rpms to start the alternator, but it'll be charging at All rpms once it starts...
Even at idle...
