I am considering buying a 2004 290 Signature series Chaparral. I notice the faux wood guage surround on the dash has some delimaniation of the plastic coating over the wood. Can these be replaced? Is this a common problem?
Thanks

Contact your local Chaparral dealer. The dash wood grain look is made out of aluminum. They are redesigning the dash so if you are going to order it do it soon.

Thanks. I already ordered them and they were not cheap $400 for the guage and switch bips (the part name according to Chaparral). I heard this is a common problem with Chaparral.

They (this part) has been hit and miss. Our boat is a 2005 and no issues. But I have heard some do have issues. I would say the biggest issue they have had has been the JBL radio system remotes. Knock on wood we have not had any.
