OK, I decided to address this post from BB in a whole new thread because I think it needed to be. Whether she is or is not a lib/dem I think we need to look at what the actual issue is here.<br /><br />First, everywhere you read about this - even in the article BB linked to there was this lil' snippit:<br /><br />

I think the only reason she cancelled her visit with President Bush et. al. is because the media would eat this for lunch and regurgitate it for years to come. And since her visit was to support a group she likes, Operation Smile. The link that "Jessica was going to be going to a Republican event" hit Drudge yesterday, and I'm sure she got pounded from every direction in "elite Hollywood" as to why she is supporting the Republicans. <br /><br />Look at what the media is doing already... <br /><br />

IMO, she didn't want to get Operation Smile mulled up in the garbage the media brings and surrounds her in.<br /><br />Sean

Think you're right. Our main media are more a tabloid outlet than reporting or providing information. Give her credit; I'm a Repub., no snub here, but of course no Repub. party up here -- I stand alone (or with very few).

ee, just having a little fun with ya'. I think you're exactly right. If it had been a demo dinner, I think the decision would be the same. Her handlers(not her) are smarter than to get her involved in politics, which would have politicized the charity that she obviously feels strongly about. <br /><br />EDIT: And based on the Chicken of the Sea incident, she doesn't know the difference between a repub and a demo anyway.
