Has anyone else been having problems with "new" fuelline bulbs and setups ?
I must have had a 50% defective rate in the new units over the past 6 months. Most will not pump up,some once you squeese it ,it will not expand back so you can squeese it again.
Is it just me,or is everyone having the same issues ?

Is this with the aftermarket bulbs? Many times it helps to have the bulb oriented in a somewhat vertical position with the arrow pointing up. Best to stick with OEM bulbs, as alot of the off-brand ones are junk..

Most of the bulbs we get with the Yamaha motors are defective, and a lot of the aftermarket bulbs are also defective is some way.

If the bulb fails to expand, I'd check for a restriction between the bulb and the pickup in the fuel tank. A sticky anti-siphon valve (if there is one) can also cause the problem. Although bulbs seem to have a high defect rate, as was mentioned, some do not operate properly when positioned horizontally. If you are using a portable plastic tank, check the tank for bits of plastic debris. I've checked lots of brand new tanks and a high number of them have significant amounts of debris. If that debris gathers around the pickup, it can stop fuel flow. I've also seen where this debris actually pops the screen loose in the pickup and the debris makes its way into the bulb causing it to malfunction.
