Hi, new boater here. Can someone explane to me what a deep vee is.? Is there any place on the web that I can go to learn about. Hull designs, and which is best for rough water. Any other information about hull designs would be great also. Thank you

Re: Deep Vee

A deep V hull does handle the chop much better.
My old boat is considered a deep V i suppose..

I never get any spray over the bow and have been in pretty rough storms..

Re: Deep Vee

It refers to the "angle" of the hull at the transom, not the bow.

The higher the deadrise(angle) the more the hull will cut through waves, the lower the deadrise the more stable it will be at rest. I know this is oversimplified and there are many, many variations, but as mentioned a google search will keep you reading for days.
