Is it ok to charge a deep cycle battery with a standard charger? I know years ago my father had a deep cycle battery charger.

Re: Deep cycle charching

I'm no expert on the subject...but...since I switched over to on board, automatic chargers; I've tripled the life out my flooded batteries. I have 2 battery types, a starting and deep cell for the house. The charger handles them both. There's no reguvenating a battery once you've throroughly screwed it up by overcharging. There's a lot of different opinions, but my advice is to buy a fully automatic charger and never worry (as much) again. Good luck.

I would install an onboard charger. This is the best money I have evr spent and with an adapter, you can plug in to shore power.
\
This is marinco's site that sells guest marine chargers. They have two nabk, three bank and four bank systems. There tech support is awsome and they install very easily.

http://www.marinco2.com/
