deck suggestions

I have a 24'x8' dual axle trailer (2002) left over from my Catamaran Cruiser being "totalled" out by the insurance company. It would be nothing to cut the guides off this, and I would have a very well built trailer just waiting for a deck to be put on to make it a flat bed. I was thinking about the different options I would have so far as material used for the deck. I am thinking that my best bet would be to try to locate some aluminum grate, perhaps 4'x8' pieces? Anybody have any suggestions or guidance in this area? I have never owned a utility type flat bed, and wonder if just decking it out with thicker, marine grade plywood might be just as good?

Re: deck suggestions

Ahoy, Bill.

Around here it is common to convert boat trailers to utility or special purpose trailers.

The most common deck I see is a framework of angle iron with a deck of pressure treated 2"X6".

Good luck. :)
