I've read alot about decarbonizing outboard motors on this site and how it can help the motor run better, but I have never heard of this. What exactly is the decarbonizing process.
The decarb process. Click here. <br /><br />It's biggest benefits come from when there's carbon fouling the ring lands on the pistons, causing the piston ring to stick. That actually lowers compression.<br />Combustion chamber deposits at their very worst can glow, causing preignition.
