decarb sprayed in one carb throat causes massive RPM increase

Hello,

Now that the posts seem to be slowing down here, I can ask a couple of the questions I have had over the season. The first has to do with something that happened while I was performing my routine biannual decarb with a can of Power Tune that I had laying around (I usually use the Dunk method instead). When spraying it in three of the carb throats on my 87 Johnson 90, the RPMs dropped as I would expect. However, whenever I sprayed it in the starboard bottom throat, the RPMs would RACE. I am able to reproduce this consistently. I remember reading a long time ago on here that this indicates something, but I can't find the post and do not remember what it is.

Thanks in advance,
-E

That carb is plugged up. The decarb stuff supplies the fuel the cylinder was starving for.

Thanks JB, I'll take the carbs apart and clean them like I've read Joe Reeves describe!
