Saddam wants a (public broadcast) debate with GW

Hello fellow political debate lovers. well, ok, you're not my fellows- cause i already told you once - i don't want to debate ;)

I just thought this has got to be putting the itch in peoples' minds, as it has mine.

so far, so good- no real ammunition for someone to chew on me over... hehehe

i'm hopin SBN will ref this one, like b4 :D

for those who will attend, pls remember to accede a point when it is won. and if you don't see the point proven, then at least give your opponent a courteous thankyou for their thought-provoking comment, with a 'here is why i disagree', instead of a ' i will ignore your point and just bring up these innuendos of why your side bites' type replies.... :D :D :D

now, to start it off- i think it is rather politically savvy for BofB to come up with this, but hey, i'm not surprised. i mean, with politically correct, give everyone another chance type politics, who could oppose a standard response to a plaintiff of "i just don't understand why you're picking on me, i'm a loved person"....

which is BS, and i would not even try to go on a world stage and reason with a declared enemy, since, i feel, average people aren't aware of enough details to make a qualified "worldclass" decision, at the level world leaders have to. and i think it would take approx. 10yrs for us to dissolve the details necessary to make an informed decision anyway.
but it seems the news networks have decided to push the issue. maybe its another 'hook' into 'reality tv'??? i'm getting a gut feeling that CBS & Dan Rather have soured...

I watched the Dan Rather, Saddam interview tonight
on the tube. With out going into detail, I think
dialog can be a good thing. But not in this case
I think Dan and his network have shown very poor
judgment in this matter, allowing Saddam to try and
justify his actions and belittle their significance at this particular time in the conflict. To what purpose? I hope every one will
see through his facade. However I think you can
fool a lot of the people a lot of the time.

Re: debating 102: GW vs Saddam

Saddam is not a democratically elected leader of his country, so he has no moral right to represent Iraq on the world stage and no more right to challenge the president to a debate than any common criminal. I hope the president will not entertain the idea...

Is Dan Rather going to give every other international criminal and/or terrorist the same opportunity ? We certainly live in strange times....I thought it was in very poor taste.

I'm all for free speech - but Saddam does not grant that right to the people of Iraq - so why should anyone grant it to him ?

Question: If Dan Rather can track Saddam down - why can't the CIA ? Maybe one of those predator drones could give him a taste of "Hellfire"...

I would say, invite him to debate and I would be the REF, so to speak, and would throw a flag on him, "because if it fits, then he gits", his so to speak. :D

Saddam wouldn't know truth if it bit him in the Gluteous Maximus.

Yea, the truth left that man a long time ago.
And Dan Rather's new name is gona be Dan Blabber, cause that's all he does is blabber on and try, and is succeeding, to be the #1 suck a$$ of the media world.
Go ahead JB, let me have it for that one.
I called someone a name and talked about them in a defamatory way. :p

CBS handed the BofB a creampuff, no real questions propaganda opportunity. I agree with you EBB, that the BofB was savvy to challange Bush to a debate as ridiculous as the idea is. The anti US forces will seize on it. Thanks CBS for giving the BofB a legitimate front to galvanize anti US sentiment with your no holds barred questioning.

I saw that too Mattt. I like the West Wing even though it is mainly a behind the scenes excuse for everything Clinton did.
