Re: Global Chillin!

It's a bit more than a little snow....

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Three nights of freezing temperatures have destroyed up to three-quarters of California's $1 billion citrus crop, according to an estimate issued Monday as forecasters warned the weather could continue.

Re: Global Chillin!

The question is so irrelevant.....what does your local weatherman have to do with any of us?

That is like me asking you to tell me why Mark Foley likes little boys. Based on your logic, you should have the correct/true answer.

Hey oddjob, I'm not a Lib, but I think the evidence is persuasive that the climate is in fact warming: (just look at the snow pack all over the world). Because I'm a Conservative, and I like to employ critical thinking skills when possible, and I don't worship the Government or hate our country, (so I don't want to restrict our ecomomy while the Red Chinese are allowed to do what they like) nor do I trust the media. I'm not sure why the climate is warming, but I suspect the ball of gas we revolve around since it is by far: THE LARGEST VARIABLE. I also know that we have fluctuated in the past to a far greater degree then we are fluctuating now. My $.02. JR

Not to worry about it.

Well then, based on that logic, libs can figure it out while conservatives cannot, but it takes a conservative to act it out?

Glad you asked....
When my local weather man sites the Global Warming as a reason for an unusually hot temp, he would then be one of Al Gores ( and his following constituants, thats you) topic experts from the scientific community. THATS WHEN!
...thx for requesting help in understanding the dynamics of the liberal left... I understand your concern and confusion.

Why does Foley like little boys? I dont know,...has he met you before?

I completely agree with you. But its not just kook Al anymore. Our schools are showing Al BS film to our children in schools. At Thanksgiving a way hip friend of my younger sister way trying trying to play the stupid Al Gore movie there while I was visiting. At least my mother had the sense to know I would have been force to leave.

Just recently I saw a kids movie called ICE AGE. It was all about global warming and the caps melting.. You folks have to see this movie. Just another tool to brainwash children when were not looking. The message and illustrations the movie offers defies the law of physics and other laws of science. Anything can be done in a cartoon. I know ,I know ....But OJ it just entertainment.

Hey they got their forum, and we got ours. Get trollin!d:)

I figured it would go over your head OJ. My statement then remains. If you can associate your weather man with me due to the side of the fence in which I stand, then I associate Foley with you.

"When my local weather man sites the Global Warming as a reason for an unusually hot temp, he would then be one of Al Gores ( and his following constituants, thats you) topic experts from the scientific community"

Hahahahaha, you think Gore discovered global warming.

"Al Gores ( and his following constituants, thats you)"

oldmerc, I think we have one of those "mind-readers," you have spoken of.

Yep oj, I do believe it is safe to say, you have flipped out. You should see "The Day After Tomorrow." Real life stuff I tell you. BTW, check out "Ice Age II." This one will really freak you out.

"the movie offers defies the law of physics and other laws of science"

Now that you bring it up, please cite a few examples. Not that it is untrue, I just don't remeber all of it. I guess I was able to distinguish it from reality.

I believe the premise of the movie to be, animals moving due to global warming...correct? Where did it say humans were causing it? If you don't believe GW is taking place, you are of the very, very few that don't. Just keep your head in the sand until it goes away. The argument is not whether or not GW is real. The argument is whether or not man is causing it to worsen.

Well for starters the polar ice cap is not a damn holding back the ocean of the artic. The movie illustrates that water begins to overflow over the ice damn and leaks aare also spouting from the damn face.. Oh I almost forgot!....the flippin damn breaks! and then theres a GLOBAL FLASH FLOOD!...Oh YEAH ! Terrible, terrible thing.....Sorry that only two tiny winy oversites by the producers right?

Yeah I know its a kids movie. Glad I was there to ask my kids if they bought into the false idea. We were staying with an old friend whos wife is very lib and a school teacher with grandchildren. the movie was for her grandchildren. She played it for my boys. I tried to enjoy it anyway.

For the record - I do believe the the sun is warming the earth. When the sun goes down the earth cools. When the sun comes up the earth warms. Life is good.

I also believe global cooling exists. Do you?

Come on OJ . . . you're simply not paying attention. Record low temps are obviously evidence of Global Warming, or have you simply missed those lessons? :}

Re: Global Chillin!

The argument that climatic changes have always been cyclical in nature is undeniable, but every argument Bush's fuzzy scientists give to justify his position completely ignore the duration of the cycles. Previous cycles took many centuries to many millenia. This cycle is taking place in decades. The only other cycles that took decades or less involved asteroid strikes. And we all know what happened to (most of) the dinosaurs, don't we? But I suppose that cycles are natural and this one is also natural is true to a point. We aren't aliens. We're native to this planet. So WE are a valid cycle source. I'd just rather that our human contributions to catastrophic mass extinctions not be comparable to those of asteroid strikes. :(

Reply: I do agree with how you framed this section of your statement. Slimmy Pols like Algore and those in the media who edit our news content for us, ('cause we can't handle the truth ya know), state that there is no debate: MAN IS CAUSING IT, more specifically: the USA and our SUVs, Boats and all. So their solution is: SHUT DOWN THE USA, (maybe we can all put on sweaters like Jimmy wants, and hang our clothes out on the clothes lines like Bab's wants, [as she rides around in the back seat of her 2 mpg Limmo]). Wrong, we carefully moniter the problem, take steps that don't hurt our ecomomy vs our competiters' economies, and if we conclude that man is causing the warming, (or an acceleration of the natural process), we all: the whole world make changes. I remember when hysterical Libs thought we were going into an ice age a few years back. Respectfully JR
