I dunno SBN, they were wielding firearms. I'd bet a judge would throw a civil suit out of court. Besides Melvin Belli is dead.

Oh but I can hear the right judge now.<br />"If you had not that knife on your person, this young full of life girl would still be with us."<br />Sorry, have seen it before.

"Former Marine"?? No such critter.<br /><br />Once a Marine, always a Marine. You can take the uniform away, but the training is forever.

Don't say if she had a weapon or not when she jumped on him. That will be the corker right there. If she had no weapon, look out.<br /><br />I'm sorry, just have seen quite a few of these where the good guy gets torched for doing the right thing.

hay JB us sailors are the same.<br /> my bet is the judge will try him cause the odds were stacked in his favor.<br /> couple of thugs against a trained killer.<br /> however a lot of us sailors got the same training.<br />we call em jarheads and worse, at the end of the day we buy them a round and thank god they are on our side :) <br /> as a twidget squid I spent many training sessions with the marines.<br /> what a dedicated bunch of folks.<br /> my salute goes out to them jarheads, they may not can spell it but they can be it :)

By the news clip in Boomyal's post, the Marine was justified. The dead girl jumped into harms way and paid for being stupid.

Sad story but this fella' was only protecting himself. I don't think a civil suit will get far... but I'm sure the parents will try and I'm sure there's many lawyers that'll take on the case.

I think he deserves a reward for ridding the world of another criminal. If they do sue I would like to contribute to his defense fund. Boomyal, please keep us informed of any further developments. Like Spinner said.... it has happened in the past with the civil suits.
