The mechanic is having a hard time nailing this one, (he is the best mechanic in the area that I can find- and has been pretty good so far).
I have a 98' 150 Ficht- updates and all that- no real problems so far....120 (embarissing) hrs on it. At WOT (5350), and it seems only when at WOT, (cold or hot), I'll get these slight 'hesitations' in RPM. They are drops in RMP anywhere from 100-200, (according to the dash tac)- and they'll last from 1/2 set to 1 sec. You can feel and hear the RPM drop, and in a 2 min WOT run, I'll get anywhere's from 5 to 10 of em, or 1 to none, but on 95% of WOT's - it shows up. Theres no rough running when it happens- no 'missing' feeling or noise or anything. All other ranges are smooth. If you run at 4800, 5000 or 5200- it doesnt happen- only at WOT- throttle down. Starting/ idle and all other ranges seem fine.
Trim adj.'s dont help or make it worse.
Gas is fresh w/100%Syn.oil, carb -x and all that, new primer bulb.
The dealer took it out and confirmed it- (both on lake and dyno)-checked all wiring, fuel pressure is okay, put in new plugs, (though mine were new and only had 5 hrs on em), then put some cleaner in it and picked up another 3-400rpm(how did that happen?). Let it soak again for 36hrs- and lost the 3-400rpm gain, (so i'm back to 5350WOT)- did a cylinder drop test and that showed nothing, and the problem remains- he's now thinking its an injector- but there are no error codes comming up.
Ive seen on some other posts about the 'power pack' that could be hitting the limiter intermittently (?), but he's ruled that out. OMC phone help seems stumped too.

I have an extended warranty is up this fall- and would like to have it covered now, rather that showing up next year.

check the TPS voltage at WOT. I remember some had a provision to retard timing if the TPS went a certain percent over WOT. this one may be a stumper. keep us posted

That motor will run better if propped around 5500-5600 rpm.

Some of those older model FICHTS had a high speed surge that was barely noticable. Your dealer can correct for it by "fooling" the computer by thinking the spark is advanced farther than it actually is. A sharp tech can do that using a laptop and "talking to" the computer by using the timing software. 2 degrees usually does it. It is a trial and error thing.

This is assuming that everything else is operational and that a pressure gauge shows that the fuel rail pressure is at a steady 20-30psi at all speeds.
