If the battery switch is left on with nothing that draws power from it left on the battery will go dead after a few days.
The only thing we can figure is that the engine (a 150 HP Mercury) some how is dragging down the battery.
On the other hand if the battery switch is turned off this does not happen.
When running, the Garmin FF indicates a charge rate, as does the dash voltmeter, of 14+ volts.
Any ideas of how to find the drain culprit in the engine would be helpful.

Re: Dead battery

If the boat is left in the water it could be draining through the engine to the water (ground). If you remove one terminal (cable) from the battery, & put a test light or volt meter in series with the battery & the cable, with everything off you should show no voltage. If you do show voltage, disconnect each accessory, one at a time, until you see no voltage draw, & you found the problem. Good Luck, Joe

Re: Dead battery

Anytime you leave switch on it will kill batt!
You should have an acc. position other than switch on all time.
