De-Carb a EFi?

With my recent problem which turned out to be a loose connector, I was considering carbon build up. Reading the instructions on the de-carb spray products they said to remove the air filter and spray it directly into the throat or air intake of the carburator, but what about a EFi which has a fuel rail. Im guessing one cannot do this. Any with experience because I still feel I would like to treat my engine some how as my plugs were pretty mucked up when changed. Thanks, Mark

even though it has a fuel rail, it has to get air somehow. However air comes in is where the carb cleaner or power tune should go in.

markdpm<br />The 3M company sell a kitthat allows you to hook up directly to fuel and clean the injectors as well as the valves. 3M also sells the needed cleaner, but you can also purchase the cleaner at a good auto parts store.

Please don't be shooting any tuner down those throttle bodies!Prescibed method is to pull spark plugs ,give each cyl. a fill up of tuner, turn the engine over by hand, repeat cyl fill thing, put the plugs in,and let her soak a while.Fire it up then smoke away that carbon buildup.

I like that method even for carbed motors. Doing half the cylinders at a time ensures an easier start in the morning.

I was wondering why you don't shoot carb or intake cleaner down the air intake? What problems might this cause?

Spraying down the air intake can be done. Its less effective than letting the rings bath in it overnite.
