Youngest daughter, a high school junior, just got word that she is receiving a Lenfest Scholarship ... that is a 4 year scholarship to the college or university of her choice and between $4k-$12k each year, depending on the school’s financial package ... Dad is smiling!

Life is so interesting. When you least expect it, great things come... Like I've always told my two boys, one thing that no one can ever take away from you is knowledge/education! Congrats to you and your daughter!

That is just fantastic to hear. Kudo's to her and your family, you must all be proud. The why of W5 wasn't answered until you posted the pic and brief explanation. It was brief. I presume it is more than just scholastic achievement. That I think is the fairest way to award a scholarship. Don't get me going on big scholarships given for athletic prowess and that's about all is needed. If a kid can run, throw, catch, kick etcetera scholastics and character can be an afterthought for rides that can be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. The cure to many diseases, the answer to long distance space travel, so many things that come to mind that will never come to fruition from a brilliant future mind because that mind will not have the opportunity to flourish through the best education available The NCAA is big business and can be as big a fraud.
