Dammage lower

Just bought a 200 jonny that sat around for a while, got it fired up O\K but the mtr won't shift [stuck in neutral] noticed a bad ding in the S\S prop. Could this have dammaged someting inside the lower unit? It is a older 90's moldel mtr.

Can you give us the exact year make and model #? That help a bunch.! BTW, Pictures help too.
