Hey guys,

I'm new to boating and have a question. I have a 97 Dakota, V6, extended cab, 2wd, 5 speed manual. Will this package pull the average 20' walk around fisher? My manual says I should be able to pull 4500 pounds.

Thanks for the input!
Dave

Re: Dakota

As long as you don't load up the boat with too much stuff, RD, (or the truck) you should be okay, but it's cutting it pretty close.

If you do it, be sure to get good brakes on the trailer.

Good luck. :)

riggerdave,

I addressed you Dakota question in the other post. The manual transmission just about kills your truck for pulling a rig of 5000 pounds or greater. I believe the tow rating with a manual is 2000.

Re: Dakota

If you plan to tow in the mountains or up any long grades your Dakota is in for a struggle.
