I am having trouble crossing the wake on my weak side. How long should I stay on edge when cutting behid the boat. My ski is throwing me over the front. What am I doing wrong?

Re: D3 X5 weak side trouble

You should confirm that your ski (fin settings and binding location) are at or close to stock/factory recommended settings. Send me a PM if you need that info.

Generally you should build load progressively after you finish the turn as your ski tip comes back under the line. Max lean in the foam before the first wake. Done loading and changing edges as you come off the second wake.

If you can get into a stronger body position ASAP as you finish your turn that helps. (this is harder on your weak side) Eyes not looking across the wakes but at the back of boat. Shoulders square to the direction the boat is going. Keep head up, eyes level with horizon, and as you load, keep hips up or think of pushing handle down toward your thighs. That load lower on you body, more through your legs will be more stable.

D3 x5 is a great ski so i suspect it is more technique rather than equipment.

Re: D3 X5 weak side trouble

Thanks. That was very helpful. I am getting ready to try it out later this evening.
