Cylinders filling up with gas

My 1995 Polaris SLT-750 has developed a weird problem. When not being used, the 2 rear cylinders fill up with gas. It won't turn over until I pull the plugs. Then the gas comes shooting out! Once cleared, I replace the plugs and it seems to run fine. What's even more odd is that it doesn't happen every time. I can go out and turn it over just fine for several days and all of a sudden it won't turn over and I know the 2 rear cylinders are full again.
I don't have much of a repair history as I purchased it just last year.
Anyone have any ideas???

that is an easy one the needle and seat are sticking open and you either don't have a shut off switch or you left the gas turned on, either way it should not leak so you better rebuild all 3 carbs it probably gives you trouble starting when it has been running and then sitting for a while as it most likely is flooding the engine, could also run crappy at low speed, if you can look down the carbs while it sits you may see it drip down the center of the carb.oh needles and seats don't usually come in carb kits so you need to get those seperately plus you need to replace the diaphragms, polaris is notorious for burning pistons from lack of fuel preasure so be aware of that also.

Thanks, Jeff.
I was hoping it might be something simple like a fuel pump diaphragm. Rebuilding the carbs is a bit beyond my capabilities so I guess it's off to the shop.
Will it hurt it to let my daughter use it this weekend? She's having a birthday party.
Thanks again,
Rick

I was also wondering - how is it that the gas continues to flow when the fuel pump only operates when the engine is turning over? I can't figure out how there could be a siphon or pressure when the tank is vented.
Just curious.

Most tanks are vented but they have check valves and the system should have preasure in it when it sits, from the fuel warming up during the day, the vent allows air in not out the preasure relief valve lets excess preasure out, for now leave the fuel cap loose while it it sitting, as for using it I can't tell you I know I would not use it but it is your call. you may damage the seals in the crank or have other problems occur.Or it may not give you any problem, try leaving the cap loose when it isn't being used but remember to tighten it when you take it out to use it. , don't want water in the fuel tank.
