I have a '92 rude xp and a '87 225. I took the carbs off of the 225 and put them on the 200 due to the 200 has 40 hours on a new rebuild. do i have to change the cylinder heads also to make the 200 a 225. the 200 is also bored .030 over and is a big bore engine. all parts are compatable.

Re: cylinder head question

dont you hate it when someone doesnt respond!!!!

anyway this is what i found out while searching for info on my 1985 140 carbs and my 1988 120/140 carbs. though they look similar the 1985s have a smaller throat than the 1988s. i attributted this to the fact that 1985 to 1987 had a smaller bore (3.50) than the 1988 to 1994 (3.685). which also applies to your motors. the 120 to 225 loop vees share the same pistons.
you probably want to look at that swap again. you will have to keep the carbs and throttle bodies together. as they are different between those years. <1992 200 & 1987 225>
you might have actually lost some performance because the jetting is different too. just trying to help
