anyone now what the Cylinder Compressin should be on a mercury 4hp 2 stroke? sorry dont know year.

Numbers aren't published. I'd look for more than 80 psi. I find in general that 2-strokes with compression under 80psi are difficult to start and below 60psi they just plain won't.<br /><br />If you post the serial number, somebody can ID the year for you. That's important because it might not be a Mercury. Most of the motors under 9.9 aren't made by them anymore. They're usually Tohatsus. They'll be making their own again when they get the China plant up and running.
