Cylinder 1 not firing

I was innertubing and just lost power. I have changed the plugs and checked for spark. Have spark on cyl 2,3,4 but not 1. I switched the coils from cyl 1 and 2 and cyl 2 works, still no spark on cyl 1. What are the 2 boxes in front of the coils? Could the stator cause this? I am trying to verify the year and locate a factory manual(I believe it is a 1989). It is a model 1251A9A. It does have the Blue prestolite ignition system.
