Hey guys, I have a cutout on my console that I would like to cover, its about 3" x 6". Any good ideas out there on what to use? Didn't really want to do fiberglass repair. Looking a for a quick fix that also looks good.

Re: Cutout Cover

Depends on how much you want to spend, what sort of boat, what would look good...

1. Some sort of material, including teak or wood or metal, with 4 screws. Maybe dress it up with paint and a logo or sticker or something.

2. Inspection port (purchased) if you want to be able to reach in there for some reason (but you could just unscrew it, see above).

Re: Cutout Cover

I "patched" a similar size hole after removing a stereo I did not want to keep.
I used a small poly cutting board from WalFart. About 1/4" thick and $5 or so for a 9x12.
Cut to size and routered edges smooth. Rubbing a hot soldering iron on the cut edge will also make it nice and smooth.
Cut two 1" wide strips out of the cutting board also that were a couple of inches longer than the height of the hole.
With one SS screw thru the patch, and into each strip, it created two clamps on the inside to secure it to the console without any addition screws going into the fiberglass console.
Used some white silicone behind patch to "glue" it to console prior to clamping.
