Since my cracked gimbal ring I have take off the bellhousing redid all my bellows and what not. also changed my gimbal bearing. When I was cutting the bellows so i could get the off easier I cut right through the hose that goes from the bell housing to the transom. The hose that sends gear oil to the oil monitor bowl in the boat. So obviuosly I have to replace it now. what kind of hose is this I have the size but will fuel line or fuel injector hose work?

1/4" marine fuel line will work fine.

Why don't you get the right stuff from your local Merc dealer?

Re: Cut the outdrive gear oil hose

I bought a marine fuel line hose... it was eaten through by the syn oil. So i got the merc hose today. It took 3 days to get shipped by whatever,

but all day while I am working on this thing i was thinking of don s's sig line.

I just wanted to let every one know that marine fuel lines wouldnt work if you were in the same jam is the reason for my post.

Thanks

So what steps did you have to take to replace the hose? Did you have to remove everything?

Re: Cut the outdrive gear oil hose

the odds of this person waiting for someone to ask them a question about their more than two year old problem are pretty slim

re activating an old thread usually dosen't get you very far here

i have read the thread you started about you gear lube line issue but i am having a hard time making sense of it

try re-wording it very plainly, describing what you noticed, where exactly you noticed it, and what you have done thus far
