Custom bench seat

Guys I need your advice. I made a bench seat for my boat for more seating. I glassed it but when sanding I sanded through the cloth. Do you think I can just use bondo to cover this? I have read alot of treads saying dont use bondo, but on a seat it should be alright,right.

BONDO makes a resin gel Like bondo bet resin its great i use it all the time it mixes like bondo spreds like bondo sands like bondo but is strong like resin

Marine Tex should handle it. Don't know how well bondo will hold up in a marine environment.
