Csrpnt - Bent Trailer Part

I have a 13ft whaler sport on an '84 Shoreline Highlander Mo.# T14-8. The tongue is staked on. It's bent. How do I remove it?

Not sure what a "stake" looks like? Is it something that could be cut and smoothed with an angle grinder?
