I decided for a last trip on my boat this summer I want to take a cruise down to Chicago on my 25' Sea Ray. Ive never been to Chicago by boat and a lot of people say its very impressive. I figured since summer is pretty much over the marinas wont be as busy. Are there any places that I must see? Any free places to tie up during the day? Any places with free wifi?

I think im only going to spend one night

Thanks for any info!

Sounds like a nice trip and it should be fun.
You've got to cruise the river, as much as you can I would say. Lots of interesting sights.

Free in Chicago ? Uh nope. Thats Milwaukee.

Alright sounds good. I made reservations at one of the marinas by Navy Pier and the River. Is there any place to tie up to during the day.

From what I understand, there are places downtown to dock but you have to pay by the hour.

Obviously cruising the river would be worth the trip by itself, but if you want to hit some of the sights away from the marina you might be better off leaving the boat in the slip and taking the bus/train.

It looks like there are bus/train stops within easy walking distance of both of the downtown marinas. (Burnham & Monroe Harbors)
