I'm interested in renting/hiring/leasing a boat to cruise the NC Intercoastal Waterway from around Elizabeth City, NC to somewhere around Southport, NC. I'd like the trip to be 4 - 6 days in order to stop and explore some of the interesting cities/ports along the way. The boat should be large enough to hold a minimum of 4 passengers, but 6 would be great. Sleeping on the boat is not necessary as there are several nice waterfront hotels/motels along the way.

I have a pontoon boat on a large freshwater lake in Central NC but don't want to trailer it 200 miles to Elizabeth City. Also, I don't think a pontoon is the right boat for this type of trip. Nor am I interested in making the trip alone as I'm not that familiar with navigation.

Anyone ever done this;
or have any recommendations;
or food for thought?

Thanks, Bob
