this was taken last summer in Notre Dame Bay Newfoundland.....the part showing is about only 10% of the berg so you can`t get too close . The water is 1000,s of years old and is fresh and makes a great icecube for your drink. They harvest these here for bottled water and Vodka. this area is called "iceberg alley".

this is the biggest that my wife and I ever saw....about 200 ft high....when it ground on the bottom with the tide it sounded like thunder. Water in this area about 40 fathoms deep !!!! We are about 1/2 mile away to be safe because they can roll any time and a lot of people have been swamped getting too close.

Absolutely awesome pictures. I've never done this type of boating before and have always really wanted to. Your pictures make me want to pack up and go now!

Very cool pics and even kind of ominous looking when you think about how much of the bergs are below the surface compared to how small your boat is. I love the pic of the house in June. I can't tell if it's an island or peninsula, but I would love to be there, light the fireplace, and relax with a warm cup of java with the wife.
