Crud in gas tank...

The only way to get tank out is to cut a hole in the floor and i am not doing that. Is there a way to get the crud out of my gas tank ?I took the fuel sending unit out and Ive siphoned all gas out . Theres a bunch of loose creap looks like sand on bottem of tank, ive poured small amont of gas back into tank hoping that it would get wash the crud to the bottem and siphoned out gas again with no luck. iIs there a trick to to it ? I was thinking i can dissconect all hoses and blow it out with air? Is that ok?

Blowing it will just distribute it around the tank. Use rags to soak up the last of the petrol, then let it sit overnight with a fan blowing air in to clear the last of the petrol fumes out. Then use a shop vacuum cleaner to get the sand out.... After that, regular filter changes.

no need to pull the tank

pull the tank sender
use a hand pump, drain the goo
dispose of per local requirements
mop up what you can
pour in 3 gallons of lacquer thinner
install tank sender
go for a 20 mile drive down a crappy gravel road
pull tank sender
use hand pump, drain the goo
dispose of per local requirements
mop up what you can
pour in 3 new gallons of lacquer thinner
install tank sender
go for another drive down the gravel road
use hand pump, drain the goo
dispose of per local requirements
mop up what you can
pour in 10 gallons of boiling hot water with dawn dish soap
install tank sender
go for another drive down the gravel road
use hand pump, drain the goo
dispose of per local requirements
mop up what you can
use air hose to dry out tank
install tank sender for last time
fill fuel tank with fresh fuel.
