We're heading up to croton campground next weekend and wondered if there are any Michiganders on here that have experience there. Is it good for water sports, pretty deep, free of debris, etc.? Would really like to try out the new s.s. Prop but if there's a bunch of junk hiding around I'll just keep the alum on for now.
Thanks,
Matt

Re: Croton pond

I've been going up to that area for 35years, only times I have ever boated Croton Pond is for fishing although I do see boats out there, and yes there are a lot of stumps
My suggestion would be to trailer to Hardy Pond, 26 miles of water, there are very few spots to get into trouble, it can get busy on weekends, pretty much the whole river is owned by Consumer Power, which means all you will see is campgrounds and woods along shoreline, some nice beaches to pull up to and there is the infamous party cove to hang out. We put our boat in at the launch right at the Dam, the guy who runs the boat launch is named Tim, very helpful-talk with him

Excellent! Thank you very much! I guess I'll leave the alum prop on for now. Just gotta get the power steering put back together and we'll be ready to go.
