Looking for a few opinions on this boat. http://orlando.craigslist.org/boa/2924983299.html

It would be used in a medium sized lake that we just moved nearby to. Bass fishing, tubing, knee boarding is what it would be used for. Is the 85 Merc going to be strong enough to ski behind? I understand aluminum boats are lighter so they can run well with smaller motors. I don't see too many aluminum boats down here in Central FL (Ocoee). I have never owned a boat before so I am looking for some info and opinions from you guys. This is my first post so be gentle!

Thanks!! :D

Welcome. An 85 on that boat should work out very well for what you want it to do.
As long as you're not trying to pull a 250 lb guy up on 1 ski it will have enough power.

Don't know about in saltwater. But in fresh no problem. 16' a little small for a family of any size along with water toys. 85 HP should do the job as stated in above post.

Beware of any waterlogged flotation foam, that will slow ya down a bit.

How many folks in your family? I find that the max number of occupants a boat is rated for is about twice what you will be happy carrying
