I apologize for what may be a stupid question but I have an issue with water collecting in my boat. I have a new 2009 Crestliner 1800 fishhawk and love it. I have noticed however, that everytime I pull the boat out and remove the plug, a lot of water drains out......2-5 gallons perhaps. I am fishing and boating in calm waters so no water is splashed into the boat. We can't figure it out. Thought it might be something to do with the livewell??
Any ideas?

I don't know if your fishhawk is like my boat, but the I think that the livewell has a separate drain. It wouldn't make any sense for your livewell to drain into the bilge of your boat. If you had a leak in your livewell, then I could see water collecting in the bilge. A real easy test would be to park your boat in your driveway and fill the livewell with your garden hose. Let it sit and determine if it's leaking. You can also drain it to see where the water truly drains.

My suspicion is that you have one of the following problems: 1) the plug is not in all the way; 2) the plug is not sealing well, or 3) you've got a leak in the hull.

I'd bet on leaking rivets. Might just leave the water in the boat (maybe add some more) until you get home and see if you can see any rivets leaking. Otherwise it's gonna be hard in that boat to find the culprit. How accesible is the area under the deck? May get some gluvits and just coat all the rivets.

Welcome to iboats!

I do believe that the Crestliner has a limited lifetime warranty.....

You might want to contact the dealer. Being that new I would guess that a livewell fitting is not properly sealed up.

I would hit a dealer first.
