Crawdad trap ideas/plans?

I'm trying to figure out how to build a better crawdad trap than the one I've got, and amazingly enough, this is not something I could find by just entering it into google. So I thought I'd ask here..

I have one of those cylinder traps with the inverted cone entrances at each end, but the buggers just crawl right back out again. So I put little swinging "fingers" over the entrance holes like a crab trap has, but then if the trap rolls over when it hits the bottom, the fingers just fall open and the crawdads still come and go as they please.

There must be a better way!

Them damn liberals are crawling in the trap and letting them go.

Used a square trap years ago. Had a long cone entrance on each end (near the top) with a small opening. I remember having it more than half full several times.

Put enough meat in there to keep them from looking elsewhere for a meal.

I always put a weight on the trap to keep the opening in position.
