Got up and got the morning routine in before "The Call.' Sewer in rental units backed up into bathtub and overflowing commode! YUCK! 4 1/2 hours later and 1 roto-rooter rental later the lines are cleared and everything is flowing freely again. A shower never felt so good! Gonna be a great weekend!

LOL, I hear ya' Art ... had to dig up the drain field at our cottage a time or two. Still remember the shower after that.

Oh man......... that's nasty! I hope it's not one of those deals where you have to explain to "adults" what they can and cannot flush.

Yeah, Mid, that was part of it ... and it was a stinky mess! But it is all cleaned up now, and the with the couple hard rains we have had today, and are having right now, some of the "stuff" that was left in the yard should be cleaned up now also!;):faint2:

Just think of it as free lawn fertilizer.....LOL, I got a friend who owns several rentals........He said he no longer assumes anyone has common sense

He tells all new tenants 4 things that can be flushed......water, pee, poop and TP:eek:

My family goes camping and for the most part I go out on the weekend. The first time we did this the bathroom was used for the week. When I made it out to the camper I was told the toilet had backed up. When I checked it the sewage container, honey pot was full as was the tank in the trailer. There is no way of cleanly disconnecting the honey pot from the trailer when full.

That was years ago and I think I can still smell it.

I used to help a buddy out who owned a RV repair shop and I tell you what, it is amazing what you find in RV holding tanks and that is one of the most thankless jobs on the planet working on someone else's sewer system.

Time to pump out the septic tank this year, digging it out is not bad, but cracking the lid is going to make me choke, BLAH!!

Try installing cameras in the unpleasant section of a number of sewage pumping stations throughout a small city, all so the city workers don't have to go down daily to check the pumps and gauges. A plugged up septic system doesn't scare me anymore for some reason.

Did my share of that when we had the rental units. Have the black water tank at the trailer pumped weekly at the trailer so I don't have to do it anymore. Will "dive in" again though in the future if I have to though but preferably not :)

Oh man, down at my camper one of our new neighbors got a brand new camper. When it came time to empty his grey water for the first time, he put on the garden hose cap, hooked up the hose and a little 12v pump to get it up the hill to the French drain and pulled the grey water handle. Nothing more than a trickle came out the hose. Uh oh. Another neighbor and I looked at each other, knowing what had happened. Some jerk at the factory, probaly on a Friday mislabled black and grey tanks. We did what any grown men would do when about to unleash several gallons of your neighbors sewage on the ground at your feet, paper, rock, scissored for it. I won. Before I could hand him a pair of gloves he had that cap off the outlet, and was picking the tp and "stuff" out of the house outlet. "gawd man, put on some gloves " was all I could think as I assumed the supervisor position and finished my cold beer. Eeeeewwwe! You find out real quick who your friends are when you black water backs up in a campground.
